Abstract

This study investigates the impact of transactional leadership styles on organizational commitment, contingent reward, and laissez-faire were considered as sub-variables of transactional leadership style. The study was conducted on PMS administrative officers of grade 17, 18, and 19 from different cadres and departments of recognized public offices in Pakistan, with a sample size of 382. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires, and data analysis was performed using statistical software. The study found that contingent reward has a significant positive impact on organizational commitment, while management by exception, and laissez-faire have a significant negative impact on organizational commitment. Based on the findings, the study recommends that public offices should adopt transactional leadership styles to improve employees' organizational commitment and psychological ownership, ultimately leading to better performance and productivity.
